Sabbatical Scheme Entry Level

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David was responsible for writing and trialling this course in 2012 and is now responsible for provision accross mid and south west Wales. This includes courses provided in Brecon, Carmarthen and Swansea. The course was written for Second Language Classroom Assistants in the Foundation Phase. The aim of the course is to create classroom assistants who understand the language and are confident to use the language with young learners, whilst developing their confidence to use Welsh in a variety of contexts within the school. The course is an intensive course and is taught over a 5 week period at the university.

This course is aimed at beginners who have very little understanding of the Welsh language.

I have learned a lot of Welsh in the last few weeks and am really happy with my progress. I can go back to school with more confidence to use Welsh.
