Which sabbatical course would be best for me?

Entry Level

This course is aimed at classroom assistants with very little knowledge of the Welsh language.

Foundation Level

This course is aimed at primary teachers with some knowledge of the Welsh language, who wish to learn useful and relevant language patterns for the classroom.

Higher Level

This course is aimed at teachers, lecturers and trainers who are fluent Welsh speakers, either as first language Welsh speakers or fluent learners, who wish to gain confidence to use Welsh in a professional context.

The aim of the Sabbatical Scheme is to increase the supply of practitioners able to teach through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Courses are offered at various locations across Wales and at Entry, Foundation and Higher levels. It is possible to follow a sabbatical course on all of these levels at the University of Wales Trinity St David.

Courses and Resources

There are a number of different courses available in various locations. Entry, Foundation and Higher level courses are available at centres in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Powys and Swansea.
